Well, we’re home, having arrived late last night (in bed by 3 AM!) and headed back to work today. First question my colleague Chris asked?
So what’s next?
Before we go to that question, I’ve got some highlights from our post-race recovery loop around the island. - Whitewater rafting on the Rangitata river
- Seeing penguins in Omaru
-Running up the steepest street in the world in Dunedin- in our long johns.
- Enjoying Milford Sound’s rain-activated waterfalls on a misty morning cruise
- Paragliding in Queenstown
- Hiking 17k up the Copland Track to a hot spring, camping the night, and hiking down the next day
- Running back up the Copland Track (34k round trip) later that evening to pick up some stuff we left behind
- Visiting friends, big caves, and pure springsĀ in Golden Bay
- Seeing dolphins, Swimming and Kayaking in Queen Charlotte Sound
- Hunting wild boar with some other Coast-to-Coasters in Marlborough (click the link to read Bryan’s take)
Some post race news:
- Due to the disqualification of another contender, I have been moved up to 12th in the final final results of the race.
- Multisport Magazine ran a nice little Q and A article in their March issue about training in Canada for the Coast to Coast
